They say it’s the third year that makes or breaks an event and with over 196 attendees and speakers from across Canada and the Unites States, it seems pretty obvious that FactualWest is set to become the premiere perennial professional development day in Western Canada. Starting at 830am with Michael Williams, Co-Creator of Queer Eye for Scout Productions, who has both an Emmy and Oscar on his credit list and ending at 4:30 with equally amazing Michele Barnwell, producer of Netflix’s Flint Town, this year offered an even greater slate of training and networking opportunities for everyone attending.  The response from everyone has been fantastic, here are a few comments on the day “Inspiring to see such a turnout and great to have the level of experience in the speakers. Made for an event that makes me excited to attend next year!” “The way you all ran FactualWEST was much more effective and beneficial than other major industry events I have attended. It is easy to understand why your organization grows year over year.” “It’s an impressive conference that I would recommend to peers in the industry. Kudos to all of you who put it on!” “I want to thank all of you for inviting me to participate in FactualWEST. It was such a pleasure meeting all of you and our colleagues from Vancouver and elsewhere. The conference/workshop was jam-packed, interesting and so well organized.  I learned a lot hearing from so many great presenters.” Factualwest is a rare opportunity in this city to meet with everyone and talk about the craft behind what we do in both field and post. It was great to have a day to spend just learning from others and thinking about how we can improve upon our own skills or how we can branch out in new ones. Huge thanks for everyone involved in organizing the day and can’t wait to be there in 2019.
