The CMPA-BC is partnering with Field and Post to offer up to three placements that focus on skills acquisition on a factual production.

This program will offer CMPA members in British Columbia the opportunity to work with emerging and mid-level producers. The focus of the initiative is to provide general producer training to those who are starting out their careers, have limited experience in the screen-based media production industry or are transitioning into it from a different field.

Application deadline closed May 24th. Selected parties will be notified soon!

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

CMF Opens New Writer-Focused Funding Program

Program Opens on June 20th, 2019

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has launched its new Early Stage Development Program. What differentiates this CMF funding program from others is that it’s the first time since the government org’s founding that it is giving writers the chance to access development money directly, without a producer or broadcaster attached. The WGC has been working with the federal government for several years to get more direct financial support for content development led by Canadian screenwriters — and this is the first step. Screenwriters who are interested and meet the CMF’s eligibility criteria — as this fund is fully operated and administered by the CMF — should apply.

ScreenCraft Film Fund

Supporting  Film Projects with grants up to $30,000

Whether you have a simple screenplay or a film that’s already in production, we want to consider it for our grant program. We consider a range of projects, from standalone screenplays, to fully packaged projects seeking finishing funds.

If your aspirations are solely to become a produced screenwriter, you can rely on ScreenCraft and BondIt to package the winning script with a talented director and in-house production resources with up to $30,000 in cash financing, judged on a case-by-case basis, depending on each project’s budget and needs as determined by our internal jury of industry professionals.
