Back by popular demand! After last year’s sold-out inaugural event, we are pleased to announce our 2nd Annual CBC Info Session and PitchFest in Vancouver.

CBC executives from Scripted Drama, Comedy, Unscripted and CBC Kids, representing both television and CBC Gem, will be in Vancouver next month to hold an information session for writers, creators, directors and producers, and will also take one-on-one meetings.

Date: Friday, June 7

Location: Law Courts Inn – 800 Smithe Street, 4th Floor

1 pm – 2:30 pm: Information Session

3 pm – 5 pm: One-on-one meetings

5 pm – 7 pm: Reception

These sessions are particularly targeted at producers and directors who do not regularly get the opportunity to pitch CBC executives at other industry conferences. You will hear what the CBC is looking for across genres and how to successfully pitch them. Pitches are a great way to start a conversation, but if you don’t have a pitch at the ready, CBC is still interested in meeting you! Just submit your BIO details via the ticket link titled “Apply for a one-on-one meeting” and explain why you’d like a meeting.

Applications for the one-on-one meetings will be open until May 23rd. Meetings are limited and final selections will be made by CBC.

Scheduled to attend are:

Helen Asimakis, Senior Director, Drama

Michelle Daly, Senior Director, Comedy

Marie McCann, Senior Director, CBC Kids

Jessica Schmiedchen, Executive in Charge of Development – Unscripted

Mélanie Lê Phan, Executive in Charge of Production, Digital Originals – Scripted

Following the event, all participants will be invited back to mingle at a post-event networking reception at the Law Courts Inn from 5 pm to 7 pm.
