How did you get started working in factual TV?
I was introduced to documentary theory and practice while studying Communications at SFU. My first gig was office reception at Paperny Films.
What do you consider to be your career highlight(s)?
Winning the Audience Choice Award at SXSW for “Love Shines”. I was the Producer on this doc feature about Canadian singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve had to do working in factual TV?
I haven’t found anything particularly strange. Maybe that’s why I’ve lasted in the industry so long.
What’s something interesting/unusual about you that most people don’t know?
I have a pretty good basketball shot.
What’s your ultimate career aspiration?
Working on more feature length documentaries.
